La Possibilité d'une île is a 2008 film directed by Michel Houellebecq, loosely based on his 2005 novel The Possibility of an Island.

Lisa Briggs, archaeologist at Cranfield University, studies ancient shipwrecks using DNA analysis and scientific tools to uncover maritime trade history and stories of ships, crews, and cargo.

Spanning 20 years, from 1990 to 2010, the series tells of three entrepreneurs who founded a company together to achieve the ultimate goal of developing a pollution-free town in Hong Kong. Through the years, they face many struggles, but most particularly, the family vendetta between two of the company founders.

Four good friends remain in touch after graduating from high school. Life has taken them down very different paths, yet every year they find time to leave city life behind and travel to the countryside to reminisce about their shared memories. As they do every year, they set their sights on their uninhabited island. They pay no heed to the initial ominous signs. After setting up camp, a Serbian barge moors next to the island, carrying Predrag, an experienced sailor. When one of the boys accuses him of stealing his fishing rod, tempers flare: one night, they kidnap the man and begin to interrogate him. The conflicts between the good friends become increasingly apparent, and old grievances that had been suppressed come to the surface...

An Island in the Stream is a documentary about Tebajima, a remote island in the southwest Japan, with a population of about 40. Until the 1980s, coastal fishing was prosperous in this island, but now there is no industry on the island due to the declining population causing by aging and declining fish catches, and because of the changes, most of the residents are over 70 years old retired fishermen and their families. Through the observation and conversation with the residents, we see the past, present and future of the island. 　　There are no supermarkets, convenience stores, restaurants, or medical facilities on the island, beside two vending machines. The residents buy food and other daily necessities in towns on the mainland of Tokushima Prefecture that can be reached by ferry. 　　The lens focuses on three characters. One is 70 years old man who was born and raised in the island and work as the president of fisherman’s union, and another is a young fisherman in his 20s.

Hunter Wilde is the leader of a group of Christian survivalists who are trying to live as normal as possible two years after an EMP attack and knocking all the power down. In a world of chaos living day to day has become more treacherous. But that is nothing compared to when the gates of hell are opened up and demons are commissioned to seek and destroy the remaining believers on earth. Their targets are set on Hunter. If they can break him the whole town of Crossroads will follow.
